french-door-refrigerator-closedIf you are thinking of buying a refrigerator and you still cannot make up your mind, why not consider buying a French Door Refrigerator. Its top half looks like a side by side refrigerator and the bottom half consists of two freezer drawers. Let’s see which things make this type of a refrigerator so popular:

Since the doors are only half of the width of the refrigerator they will fit any kitchen size without bothering if there is enough space to open the door. They are perfect for entertaining, as they enable full shelf space for putting large trays or other items, which would not typically fit in a side by side refrigerator. A great number of the French door refrigerators available on the market today have door space in which you can place a gallon of milk easily to allow for more storage space. Most of our everyday food will come from the fridge that is on the top half so it won’t be necessary to bend down to the bottom to find your vegetables and fruits.

Before you make a choice of a refrigerator, you want to make sure that it will fit adequately in your kitchen and more important whether it is going to suit your needs. Then you’ll have to work out if you want or need a counter depth refrigerator. In case you’re not sure which of the refrigerator models to select, it would be good to check their differences. In comparison with a counter depth refrigerator which tends to be 25 -27 inches deep, a regular refrigerator is 30-32 inches deep. Because of these measures, a counter depth refrigerator allows you to flow along with the cabinets. But, despite the fact that it looks shiny and beautiful, it may occupy less space in the kitchen, because of its decreased depth.

Furthermore, you need to define whether you want a refrigerator with color (e.g. black, white, bisque) or a stainless steel refrigerator. Still, this is not that important feature, except if you want your refrigerator to be of some specific color. Additionally, you may want to check the advantages and disadvantages of stainless steel refrigerators before you opt for some model. If it happens that you like the look and don’t love the upkeep, many companies make a faux stainless steel look, also known as satina.
